Tomatoes and Fresh Basil Sauce it’s probably the most simple sauce of the Italian culinary Tradition, and maybe the most appreciated by the Italians. Sometimes what it looks simply interested is actually more tricky to be done…

Our version of Pomodoro & Basilico is slowly cooked for a long time so that the sugar contained in the Tomatoes gets a process of caramelization making the sauce tastier.

“Arrabbiata” is a typical sauce from the center of Italy, in particular from the city of Rome.  It is a funny name for a sauce because in Italian being “arrabbiato” means to be angry! The name derives from the fact that eating pasta with this type of sauce, you risk, because of the chilli, to become red, just like when you get angry (I know… Italians are vulnerable to spicy food ahah).

Pesto is a luscious sauce made with the simple ingredients: some cheese, basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic and olive oil. It is traditionally prepared in a marble mortar with a wooden pestle which brings out the full flavor of the basil, giving a nice smooth paste. Pesto sauce can be used on pasta to enhance the taste of the flavors. It can be served with sliced beef tomatoes and sliced boiled potatoes to add some twist to your evening snacks!

Bolognese sauce known as ragù alla bolognese in Italy, is a meat-based sauce originating from Bologna, Italy. Regional Bolognese sauce (ragù alla bolognese) is a slowly cooked sauce prepared in several techniques including sautéing and braising. In ragu, main ingredients are finely chopped onions, celery, carrot and minced chopped beef. Tomatoes are added to give it a tangy flavor then it is turned into a thicker sauce.

Dairy Foods

Very similar to Parmesan Cheese, Pecorino Romano is a sheep’s milk-based Cheese a bit more salty and tasty but less “hard” than the Parmesan. The same kind of Cheese is produced in many regions of Italy, but in particular in the surrounding of Rome (from which the name of our one) and in the beautiful island of Sardinia (from which you get the Pecorino Sardo). It can be used for the preparation of many dishes, but it is perfect if eaten with tomatoes (in any possible combination or form). This cheese is only very real gourmet!
